| Frequently asked questions about the Knowledge that Maharaji teaches. | ||
| back | ||
| (1) | What is the Knowledge that Maharaji teaches? There is more to Maharaji's message than words. He offers a practical way to find peace within, which he calls Knowledge . "What I offer people is not just talk," he says, "but a way to go inside and savor the peace that is within." Knowledge consists of four simple techniques. More than 500,000 people have been taught these techniques. |
| (2) | Is this like meditation? Maharaji recently said : "You could say this is the meditation. But it is far beyond meditation because it is not just contemplating a thought or trying to control your mind or control your thinking. This is like a person who is hot and dirty, jumping into a beautiful, cool, crystal clear pond. The difference is how refreshing it is. To be refreshed every moment. To appreciate. It is not trying to control or conquer something. It is appreciating something. This is a big difference." |
| (3) | Is Knowledge for everyone? Not necessarily, but it is for everyone who wants the experience of peace and joy within that it makes possible. |
| (4) | Does Knowledge require a certain lifestyle? It is compatible with and independent of any lifestyle, culture, religion, or belief system. |
| (5) | Is there any charge or condition for learning the techniques of Knowledge? The techniques of Knowledge are taught free of charge without regard to a person's gender, economic or social status, sexual preference, lifestyle, race, culture, religious or ethnic background. |
| (6) | If I am interested in the techniques of Knowledge, what is the next step? If you wish to discover more about what Knowledge is and how to prepare to learn these techniques, you can read a brochure or watch a video called "Discovering More." They are also available in print and DVD versions. More information on how to get them is available here. Before learning these techniques, there is a period of preparation that may take from three to five months. The preparation involves viewing video materials called "The Keys." There are six Keys. The first five consist of a presentation by Maharaji and approximately ten to twelve hours of supporting video material. After watching the first five Keys, people may ask to be shown the techniques of Knowledge, which are taught in the sixth Key, in a special session. These sessions take place in many countries around the world on scheduled dates each year. If you are interested in entering the Keys process, visit: www.thekeys.maharaji.net. |
| (7) | Is a daily practice required? To reap the fruits of Knowledge requires commitment and a sustained effort. It is recommended that those learning the techniques practice them at least one hour each day and keep growing in their understanding of the possibility that is offered. |
| (8) | Is Knowledge a solution to problems? Knowledge does not remove or resolve problems; it enables a person to go inside and find the peace that resides within. Knowledge also does not provide or replace medical diagnosis or treatment for physical or mental medical issues. |
| (9) | Is there a requirement to join something or contribute financially? No, there is nothing to join and no obligation to contribute financially, either during the preparation process or after a person is taught these techniques. There are registration fees to attend some of the larger events, but both the fee and attendance are voluntary. Donations are sometimes requested at local events to help cover such costs as meeting room space or audiovisual equipment, but giving is always a matter of voluntary choice. Admission is never denied because of inability to contribute. |
